Wrestling has always been fascinating to its fans. The slamming, the blood, and even the storylines that come with it. While many dream of being at a live event, Calderon Charities of America Broadcasting Network had that opportunity on Friday July 7th, 2023, in West Milford New Jersey to attend the Independent Superstars of Pro Wrestling event that took place at the St. Joseph Church’s Parish Hall.
In the opening of the event, Calderon Charities of America Broadcasting Network’s very own Bishop Junior got to meet with wrestlers such as, Anthony, GKM, JJ Doze, Richard Holliday, Leo Sparrow, and Women’s Champion Vicious Vickie. While the event was all about the World Heavyweight Championship Title Tournament. The first match that kicked off the night was Anthony who had the opportunity to face off against Joe Cleaner. While Anthony was doing his own thing and victory looked in his favor, an interference by Veteran Michael Mars, who cost both Anthony and Joe Cleaner the match due to interference.
The first next match on the World Heavyweight Championship Title card began with Justin Gorino vs Bull James. This match seemed a bit uneven since James came across as a true heavyweight in the ring and Gorino was light on his feet. But it was with no anvil that Gorino gave it his all. But in the end, James came out as the winner and moved on to having the chance of becoming the World Heavyweight Champion.
The following match consisted of T.J. Epixx and Joey Ace; However, Joey Ace fell short of a victory over T.J. Epixx. Leo Sparrow walked away with the win over Vinny Pacifico in the following match and ending the first round of the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament was the winning victory of Richard Holliday who pinned Crowbar for his advancement.
After the first round of the tournament was completed, the tag-team titles were put on the line in a four-way tag team title match. Nu Black Street boys, team Christopher and one half of the World Tag Team Champions, Hale Collins and Vik Dalishus (Anthony filled in for Vik Dalishus of The Now – due to unseen circumstances).
The second match for the World Heavyweight Championship Title Tournament was James Bull vs. TJ Epixx. This match went pretty quickly since Bull threw Epixx around the ring easily and crushed him with his huge splash and took the victory with a 1….2….3…. pin, advancing Bull to the World Heavyweight Championship Title match itself.
Between the second match and the actual World Heavyweight Championship Title match, the Tri-State Champion GKM faced off against Rey Calintri. GKM had the match in a bag, but it was not until Calitri cheated and smacked GKM in the head with a briefcase causing GKM to be pinned by Calitri. Thus, causing GKM to lose his title reign and placing the Tri-State Championship Title into Calitri hands.
Not long after the Tri-State title match ended, Richard Holliday and James Bull had the chance to face off for the World Heavyweight Championship Title. The match was epic. While odds were against Holliday, he fended off not only his opponent, but also his opponent’s manager Maven (I believe this was his name please correct me if I am wrong). But Dave LaGreca and Don LaGreca came to the rescue. They were able to distract Maven long enough for Holliday to finish off Bull with his finisher and cover him with the 1.. 2.. 3.. pin, allowing Holliday to become the World Heavyweight Champion of Independent Superstars Pro Wrestling.
But the real victory was when Jenn, one of the strong coordinators of ISPW had the opportunity to pin Dave LaGreca in an arm-wrestling match later that night. WELL DONE JENN!!!!
